Reviewed's Elite 8 Product Madness update for April

Product Madness is headed into the Elite 8 with surprise upsets

March is a time of rebirth. Frozen soil, rejuvenated by the nutrients of fall foliage, begins its thaw. Seeded by the hard work of forgetful squirrels, it seeps with fresh, cool water from spring showers. Those first seeds sprout, reaching delicate shoots out toward the slowly more-present sunshine. They bring life to the stillness of winter and mark the coming of robins, jays, and chickadees. With them, more fauna begins to rouse from a deep, cold slumber.

A North Carolina Wolfpack, hungry from the slim pickings of the winter tundra, surround and threaten the hard work of Purdue’s Boilermakers. Lively Huskies hailing from Connecticut find themselves preparing for a tryst with an imposing Crimson Tide from Alabama. Wait. What were we talking about? Ah, yes. Spring brings us college basketball playoffs.

Reviewed Product Madness

More importantly: Spring brings us Reviewed Product Madness. It’s a competition where four of our editors pick their favorite products for head-to-head voting, and we narrow a bracket of the 32 greatest items we’ve tested down to one (reader-approved) champion. It’s the only competition on earth (arguably, in the entire universe) where you get to decide what’s more delightful: cold brew coffee or the wonderful creations of a pizza oven.

We’ve closed out the Sweet 16 and this week we’re headed into our Elite 8, with each editor’s final two products set to make their case to reach the Final Four. Use the poll below to cast your votes, join us on Instagram to cast a secret second vote, and read on to learn more about these incredible products and what their sponsoring editors believe will have the edge this round.

John’s prediction: Breville Smart Oven Pro silences the Sony WH-1000XM5 headphones

Breville's Smart Oven Pro toasts a bagel

The fact the Breville Smart Oven Pro beat out the LG C3 OLED TV (a TV series that's been our favorite for years), just goes to show the power of toast should never be underestimated. "I pity the fool who has to go against the awesome power of counter-top convection!" said Mr. T (probably). We should all listen to Mr. T and pity the remaining losers of Reviewed's Product Madness 2024 bracket.

Kate’s prediction: Tums bag outshines the Omnilux LED mask

Fashion, medicine, and art come together in this brilliant, hilarious bag from Tums and Nik Bentel Studios.

Fashion, medicine, and art come together in this brilliant, hilarious bag from Tums and Nik Bentel Studios.

There is no question which of my products will make the Final Four—it's the same product that will win the whole competition. We knew she'd win from the moment she entered the chat. She is beauty, she's grace, she's the Nik Bentel Tums Bag. It's a stunning silver handbag that holds the most precious accessory every 30-something needs for a night out (Tums).

Jen’s prediction: Ooni pizza oven gives the jitters to the Takeya cold brew pitcher

Make sure you have room to give the Ooni a permanent place outside.

Make sure you have room to give the Ooni a permanent place outside.

Cold brew and pizza are both elite competitors, but let’s be real: Dean Martin didn’t sing an iconic verse comparing the moon to a cup of coffee. When Ooni’s sleek, fast pizza ovens heat up to 950 degrees to give you restaurant quality wood fired pizza in 60 seconds flat, THAT’s amore. And more so, that’s a bracket-winning pick.

Leigh’s prediction: Always Pan 2.0 takes the Roomba j7+ to the cleaners

Various color options of the Our Place Always Pan 2.0

While the Roomba j7+ is a worthy competitor, I predict the Always Pan 2.0 will knock it out of first place for Team WinTown. This pan has form and function (and smooth ceramic surfaces that make its stainless-steel cousin green with envy). Should we call her the Gisele Bündchen of kitchen products? Absolutely.
